We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Engineering Services business, based in Perth, Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane or Adelaide for an initial contract period of 12 months. This role will support the delivery and enhancement of Army MakerSpace services. The primary focus will be to plan, manage and review the project scope concentrating on Time, Cost, Quality, Resource, Communication, Risk, Procurement and Integration Management.

 

As a Project Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide estimates for project planning, bids and tenders;
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans (e.g. safety management, risk management, communications, configuration management, etc), budgets and schedules against configured baselines;
  • Identify required project resources (includes human, material and facilities);
  • Implement and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Project Management policies and processes under the QinetiQ Project Management Framework;
  • Manage and prioritise project deliverables in line with project plan;
  • Manage coordination of project team and work group partners (both internal and external) to execute project delivery and where required resolve cross functional issues at project level;
  • Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where required;
  • Ensure management, communication and leadership practices in the line of business generates a high level of employee engagement, a performance culture and aligns with QinetiQ staff competency requirements; and
  • Work closely with the Commercial team and People & Capability team in the planning and execution of commercial, procurement, export compliance, insurance and people requirements, and relationship management.

 

To be successful in the role of Project Manager you will require a Diploma or equivalent in the Project Management discipline and;

  • Project management experience within a large complex project, or program of projects;
  • Developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relations to influence and lead decision makers;
  • Technical, commercial, industry and management experience, gained within a Defence environment;
  • Prior experience leading and managing a diverse, matrixed and geographically dispersed team of people across a range of engineering, technical, Military, ILS and PM disciplines
  • Ability to solicit, support and coordinate efforts of a diverse team of technical and functional experts; and
  • Domain experience in defence or defence related industry at middle management level or equivalent.

Working alongside world-leading defence scientists our Integrated Engineering Services division offers multi-disciplinary professional engineering services supported by in-house manufacturing capabilities, to solve challenging engineering problems for our Defence Science and Technology clients.
