An opportunity now exists for a Electronics/Mechatronics Engineer  to join our Integrated Engineering Services (IES) division in Adelaide SA.

Working alongside world-leading defence scientists our Integrated Engineering Services division offers multi-disciplinary professional engineering services supported by in-house manufacturing capabilities, to solve challenging engineering problems for our Defence Science and Technology clients.

Working alongside world-leading defence scientists in our Integrated Engineering Services division we offer multi-disciplinary professional engineering services supported by in-house manufacturing capabilities, to solve challenging engineering problems for our Defence Science and Technology clients.

 

As Electronics/Mechatronics Engineer you will be responsible for:

 

  • The electronic aspects of design, development, testing, and documentation at QinetiQ IES team located in Edinburgh.
  • Development of the system requirements and specifications
  • Design of electronics systems as per the requirements and safety regulations
  • Development of documentation for design validation and qualification
  • Project technical management of multiple design projects
  • Working in conjunction with other technical disciplines to ensure overall system requirements are achieved
  • Working in conjunction with other departments to meet operational requirements
  • Creating and/or assisting with cost estimates for new products and services
  • Review and/or approval of basic drawings, electronics schematics and other technical documents
  • Additional tasks as assigned by superior

 Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent
  • Experience with circuit board design and/or electronic systems design software ( e.g Altium)
  • Computer proficiency (Document Management Software, MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

Additional desirable assets would include:

  • Software programming experience in embedded systems ( FPGA, C and C++, Java, javascript)
  • Analog and high speed digital design
  • Technical writing
  • Conduct minor electronic fabrication ( fault finding to component level)

  Security Requirements:

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Must have a clean background history and obtain and criminal record check

 Additional potential requirements:

  • Manual dexterity needed to operate hand tools
  • Conduct minor
  • Lift a maximum of 15 kg
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance is required.
