The Team
Hebrides Engineering:
The QinetiQ Hebrides Range Engineering Group is made up of multidisciplinary teams who deliver high quality & expert service to a wide range of military & government customers. We conduct testing, trials, training and evaluation on the largest Air and Sea Range in Western Europe.
The Hebrides Range Radar Teams are recruiting graduates to work supporting cutting-edge programs such as high energetic test and evaluation trials conducted in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
This is a full time position within one of our dedicated engineering teams, which will give the successful candidates the opportunity to get hands on experience within a variety of disciplines such as:
- Tracking and Surveillance Radars
- Electronic and Electro Mechanical maintenance
- Data acquisition and Radio Frequency Communications Systems.
- Operational delivery of live test, evaluation and training missions for our customers.
Academic requirements:
You will need to have achieved at least a 2:1 degree with a key focus in any of the disciplines listed below or a relevant / relatable discipline with transferable skills and area of interest:
- Electronic Engineering
- Electromechanical Engineering
- Radio Frequency Communications
- Systems Engineering
Additional requirements and details:
- Candidates should have a strong interest and/or experience within an electronics or electro/mechanical field.
- Be passionate about computing and electronics, including hobbies or outside academia activities, for example PC building, vehicle maintenance, computer gaming, amateur radio, UAV/radio controlled vehicles or similar activities.
- Successful applicants shall be required to undertake and pass Helicopter Underwater Escape training, in order to travel to the island of St Kilda for occasional deployments.
- This role involves supporting working at height activities on masts and towers and requires successful completion of associated medicals and training.
- All required specialist training is provided.
