QinetiQ is currently offering an exciting opportunity to become a Project Controller within the Air & Space part of the business. This is an amazing opportunity to come into the business from a range of backgrounds including project controls or administration, to pursue a long-standing career within a leading global defence organisation. What will I be doing?

 

Developing your skills and experience you will be responsible for providing the delivery of management, planning, documentation and processes for various projects within the business.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting with day-to-day management and control of purchasing, planning, documentation, processing, scheduling, forecasting and reporting within various projects
  • Introductory leadership skills leading to a range of small team leadership through task management, with eventual coaching and mentoring and/or Line Management if desired by the candidate
  • Providing project support to IDTs and other large and complex strategic programmes
  • Delivering project control tasks within assigned team; using MS Project, lifecycle briefcase, project reporting, invoicing and other project document creation and management.
  • Delivering project finance; debtors and cash collection, calculation of accruals, collation of cost journals and facility costs.

 

 

 

What do I need?

 

You’ll need experience in some of the following areas. The criteria would be desirable, but not essential:

 

  • A degree of relevant certification would be highly desirable e.g:
  • Project controls Competency Framework (Foundation) or
  • APMP Introductory Certificate
  • Years’ experience working within a relevant field. There’s flexible consideration to relevant experience, ranging from:
  • project controls exposure/experience
  • senior project controls positions
  • administrative experience
  • Operational administration/Stakeholder engagement experience
  • scheduling/reporting/forecasting experience
  • management-based backgrounds with a methodological mind-set

     

 

  • Up-to-date experience using systems such as (MSP) Microsoft Project, PPM, Epic Flow or SAP would be highly desirable
  • Experience of managing a team of professionals
  • Ability to prioritise activities to manage workload and pressure effectively 
  • Awareness of the project lifecycle & sales processes would also be highly desirable criteria
