About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Airfield Services Team at QinetiQ to provide technician support for our survival equipment at Boscombe Down, working predominantly with parachutes and other personal survival packs.

 

You will be providing technical engineering support and carrying out maintenance on aircrew protective clothing, helmets and electrical headsets, oxygen masks & personal survival packs, static line and free fall parachute assemblies, multi-seat life rafts and emergency packs.

 

You will be working from an airbase at Boscombe Down near Salisbury and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop into and array of different areas across the airfield and business at QinetiQ.

 

What do I need?

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have worked across a mechanical engineering background.

 

We would also like you to have:

  • Experience working with protective survival equipment
  • BTEC Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in engineering or equivalent

What will I be doing?

  • Ensuring that survival equipment maintenance and other related tasks are carried out efficiently and to quality in accordance with regulatory and corporate procedures
  • Carrying out assigned tasks as directed by the Team Leader/Supervisor and in accordance with the planned schedule of work
  • Ensuring that SE equipment paperwork accurately reflects the physical state of the SE equipment at the end of each working day
  • Compliance with authorised tool control procedures
  • Carrying out maintenance aircrew protective clothing, protective helmets and electrical headsets, oxygen masks & personal survival packs, static line & free fall parachutes, multi-seat life rafts and emergency packs
