About the role
We are currently recruiting a Risk Manager/Consultant to join our Cost & Risk Consulting Team. The initial period will be working within our Long Term Partnering Agreement (LTPA). 
The LTPA is a contract between QinetiQ and the UK Ministry of Defence and we are responsible for the operation of 15 MOD land, sea and air ranges and specialist test facilities and the provision of specialist technical expertise and support services, here you would benefit from accelerated development in risk techniques.

 

In the longer term, you would work across the QinetiQ global business portfolio throughout the end to end process from bid/tender to project delivery and with the potential for engagement with external clients. 

 

We can offer this position as a training/career development opportunity and will provide mentorship from highly experienced Risk Consultants to support your continued learning and development.

 

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Cost & Risk Team Leader, you will principally focus on supporting QinetiQ tendering activities and contributing to risk analyses on the LTPA QinetiQ contracts.  This will include the development of tailored risk solutions and/or providing risk advice to composite tenders; and contributing to risk registers, cost and schedule risk estimates and analyses on projects/programmes.  You will also be directly engaged on delivering expertise for external clients across QinetiQ’s global business portfolio, in client-facing roles.

 

What do I need?

You will be an enthusiastic, proactive and success-driven individual, you will bring an agile and enquiring mind to the team.  You will demonstrate good experience and credibility and be confident engaging with stakeholders and presenting solutions.

You are likely to have already operated as an Analyst or Consultant in Risk Management or have previously worked within Project Controls or Project Management functions.

Experience of working within the Defence/Security industry is desirable but not essential and we are open to applications from various industries.

We operate a flexible, hybrid working model, our teams and clients are geographically spread and so travel within the UK (and potentially overseas) may be necessary on occasion.  A willingness and ability to operate from QinetiQ and client sites may also be required.
