Senior Combat Systems Engineer

Role Description

We are looking for an inspiring Maritime Combat System Engineer to join a team delivering consultancy/customer friend advice and practical engineering support to the MoD team building new Royal Navy platforms including Type 26 and Type 31 Frigates.  Based on a hybrid-working model through its QinetiQ Bristol office, work is currently focussed on supporting the design and build of the warships’ combat systems, through a test and trials phase and then delivery of in-service capability.


You will be expected to engage with our Customers to understand their needs, manage their requirements and optimise the process of delivering engineering support to achieve their new build platform objectives.


QinetiQ has roles throughout a broad range of Combat System skills sets and welcomes applications from candidates across all levels of Combat System experience and knowledge


Responsibilities and Outputs

Typically, you will have responsibility for the technical management and delivery of specific, delegated equipment areas (for example Communications, Weapons, Sensors) but also equipment and system integration and preparation for platform delivery into Royal Navy service.


Essential Skills and knowledge

Stakeholder management;

Consultancy (customer facing) skills;

Knowledge of Type 23/26/31 combat systems and equipment
