QinetiQ has a number of new opportunities to support the growth of the company in the delivery of capability to our clients. As such, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Support Officer to join our Advisory business based in Canberra.

 

As part of our support to Australian Government departments your role will be to support the delivery of specified Joint Integrated capabilities by providing a wide range of technical and program management services.

 

Working closely within our Customer’s organisation you will be responsible for supporting the business outcomes, implementing the necessary processes, policies and procedures to support a successful Capability Management program delivery.

 

As a Senior Project Support Officer your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing required project documentation, artefacts and governance arrangements for the Program to meet the Department’s capability planning and development requirements, up to and including required artefacts to support seeking investment approval
  • Supporting the team through the analysis and development of a comprehensive suite of Capability Definition Documentation
  • Production of strategic and operational documentation
  • Development and implementation of standards, policies & procedures
  • Conduct capability development that aligns with and further informs the Program strategy and programmatic approach to program and project delivery
  • Undertake research
  • Undertake scoping studies with options to achieve the work package, including resourcing, schedule and risks
  • Develop draft Project Management Plans
  • Engagement with internal and external stakeholders
  • Project administration including managing project documents in corporate document management systems

 

To be successful in the role of Senior Project Support Officer you will need to bring with you:

 

  • Diploma or equivalent in Project Management discipline
  • Project Management experience within a complex Defence acquisition project or program of projects
  • Defence knowledge – context, drivers, language, required capability outcomes, purpose
  • Familiarity with Defence’s Capability Life Cycle
  • Developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relations to influence and lead decision makers
  • Technical, commercial, industry and management experience, gained within a Defence environment
  • Defence and/or military domain experience is desirable
  • ICT project management experience (desirable)
