The Role
Be part of the QinetiQ journey. Join us as an Ammunition Technician where you will be working with many types of ammunition and explosives. The role provides sheer variety where you will support on the delivery of trials, inventory management, housekeeping of explosives buildings and general ammunition management duties.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Prepare ammunition for trials and proof activities including delivery to the Ranges
- Receive and dispatch ammunition, including accurate completion of all relevant documentation
- Stock check
- Inspect the licences for explosives buildings
- Have control of entry into explosives areas
- Support the site on any task required
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week and you will be on the Eskmeals site full time. The role requires outdoor work in extremes of weather, and manual handling.
Experience of the Ammunition Technician:
- An awareness of Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives
- Must be able to work as part of a team in a busy operational environment and take the lead when required
- Take responsibility for own Health and Safety and be prepared to challenge any unsafe behaviours observed in others
- Warehouse experience is advantageous
Qualifications of the Ammunition Technician:
- Education level GCSE, NVQ or similar
- Full UK car driving licence
