Digital Marketing Manager - Fixed Term Contract

Purpose of the role – to drive strategies to increase audience engagement through external QinetiQ-wide digital channels.

Working with the marketing team and wider brand team, this role is responsible for the development, implementation and optimisation of all external digital channels. This role will work with the wider team and organisation to ensure QinetiQ is positioned for growth externally and that we’re engaging the right audience groups through our digital channels.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Own and drive QinetiQ’s external digital strategy

  • Manage the development of QinetiQ.com and other QinetiQ websites

  • Coordinate and lead QinetiQ’s external digital strategy across the Group – working with key international teams and stakeholders to enable a clear QinetiQ voice

  • Develop QinetiQ brand, messaging and personality though our social and digital channels

  • Manage the training and development of Sitecore CMS, working with the IT team

  • Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about our company, competitors, and/or industry; developing and leading a team of social media ambassadors to further promote the company to key stakeholders

  • Develop, drive and run regular social and website campaigns and track their success

  • Drive a network of content creators to develop high-quality digital content that educates and entertains our audience

  • Analyse and report on all digital engagement activity

  • Manage, develop and implement the SEO strategy

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in digital engagement

  • Drive the timely publication of content on our social media channels and website

  • Collaborate with marketers and senior leaders to both accurately forecast and craft the right strategies, campaigns, and tests to run through our digital and social channels
     

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities required

  • Strong technical knowledge and CMS skills

  • Ability to develop effective digital strategies to increase engagement and reach

  • Great collaborator with the ability to manage and lead a variety of stakeholders

  • Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Expert in everything digital, with keen interest in new technologies, platforms and channels

  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions

  • Ability to extract meaning and suggest action items from data enabling this to drive the development of digital strategies

  • Understanding of web-related behaviours and trends and ability to optimise for these

  • Degree level educated or equivalent working experience

  • 6 years’ experience in digital marketing and engagement

  • Track record of developing and delivering digital strategies

  • Experience of managing and developing a team

  • Proven track record of delivering inbound and digital engagement strategies

  • Demonstrable experience working in a complex stakeholder environment, with excellent relationship management skills and adherence to approvals processes

  • Experience of launching new and complex websites

  • Experience of managing external agencies and contractors to deliver complex projects

  • Experience of web analytics, social media analytics and SEO analysis and optimisation

  • Experience of lead generation through online channels

  • Experience of running SEO & PPC campaigns

  • Experience of creating digital engagement strategies to attract key audience groups
