The Role
As a Platforms Engineer you'll work within the UK Shared Services team, supporting the delivery of IT Identity and Access Management Services (including Single Sign-On Integrations) across physical, virtual and cloud based technologies.
Day-to-day you'll:
- Support the Technical Service Owner for the identity management platforms (along with any other systems/services within your remit) by ensuring obsolescence is reviewed, as well as supporting the development of suitable roadmaps. This includes the development and maintenance of Standards in respect of Identity Management.
- Provide technical leadership within your specialism
- Ensure that IT Identity and Access Management documentation is maintained and configuration records for Identity providers & third-party integrations are up to date at point of deployment
- Provide operational, service support during incident and problem management activities related directly to your area of expertise
- Develop, plan and assist in the deployment of new technologies and enhancements to existing systems
- Deliver improvements via planned activities within your area of knowledge
- Assist in the service transition of new technologies and services into operational support
- Assist in developing solutions and services aligned to QinetiQ’s strategies and requirements
This role is full-time, 37-hours per week, based osite at Farnborough.
Skills and experience of the Platform Engineer
- Relevant experience in the day to day maintenance and operation of Identity Access Management platforms within an enterprise environment
- Experience in managing an OKTA Identity Management Platform
- Experience in managing an Azure Identity Management Platform
- Extensive familiarity with Identity management principals and best practices to ensure performance and consistency SSO, MFA, SAML etc
- Experience in Automation technologies relevant to technical specialism
- Experience in a service delivery, best practice environment preferred
Qualifications for the Platform Engineer
- A Technical Degree (i.e. within a Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent field), and/or significant, relevant technical experience
- Professional accreditation from relevant technology vendors or equivalent experience. (Microsoft Certified, Okta certification etc.)
- Microsoft Certification in Identity and Access Management or equivalent experience
