This opportunity is to grow our professional systems engineering team supporting product / prototype / complex systems developments. You will have a passion for excellence in technical application of systems engineering, and in growth of the systems engineering discipline as a whole.
Your systems engineering experience, skills and interests may include one or more of

Roles are available from Engineer to Principal Level; projects and roles scale in complexity across a broad portfolio of applications and domain.
What will I be doing?
You will be working on aspects of a system, depending on your experience. You will be responsible for producing relevant systems engineering artefacts such as models, requirements, use cases, interface definitions, technical delivery plans, verification plans etc.
You will lead in your field of experience and will actively participate in developing the profession within QinetiQ through networking and mentoring others, whilst developing your professional skills through training and professional body activity.
You will move from project to project (short / medium / long term deployments), contributing to the system development or technical leadership activity. Often you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be an active participant in the overall system solution and decision making, reducing technical risk through application of sound systems engineering principles.
What do I need?
You need to have demonstrable experience of applying systems engineering principles to complex problems. You may be a specialist in an element of the profession or lifecycle and have a broad base of applying systems engineering, eg in defence, civil or industrial applications.
You may have demonstrable experience in product engineering and product development, and or in delivering concept demonstrators or prototype hardware following rigorous engineering principles. You may have an interest in spinning up demonstrators, or product development through Agile incremental delivery.
You will have an ability to communicate complex solutions and engineering outcomes to stakeholders. You will be able to manage ambiguity, identify and mitigate technical risk. You will be able to succinctly summarise and produce concise reports highlighting the relevant information.
You will value individuals around you, and be able to join teams and operate inclusively, whilst adjusting your leadership style to situation and environment.
