QinetiQ Inc is seeking an experienced Machinist to support our customer at our Fort Belvoir facility.

 

Your Contribution to the Mission:

 

  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
  • May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Cleans and inspects equipment to avoid breakdowns and assists with keeping the shop in good order.
  • Read prints & job orders to determine dimensions and machine set-up; set-up and operate various machining equipment such as lathes or mills in order to machine or grind components to precise customer specifications; use measurement tools to ensure accuracy of part.

 

To Land This Job, You Need:

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a machine workshop or similar environment
  • Understanding of blueprints and ability to interpret designs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands

 

Job Type:  Full Time

Clearance Level Must be Currently Possess:

DOD Secret or Higher
