QinetiQ Inc.’s Land Systems group is looking for a highly motivated Director of Survivability.  Responsibilities include business line management and operational performance for the Survivability Division.  Monitors, implements, and administers formal aspects of the Survivability Division’s business operations and program related performance in accordance with corporate policies, government regulations and contract requirements. Responsible for the development of business and program-related financial, scheduling data including budgeting and forecasting, transaction processing and financial analysis to support the division’s business objectives.  The position reports to the Vice President of Land Systems.  

 

Your Contribution to Our Mission:

The Director of Survivability is responsibility for the following:

  • Manage all aspects of a mature and growing product line.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for setting technical direction and drive growth in QinetiQ's Survivability technologies. 
  • Candidate will deliver technical leadership in the field of military and commercial survivability products while meeting orders, revenue, and profit targets
  • The candidate will have knowledge in armor design and installations for land, air and sea applications and understand ballistics and mechanical engineering.
  • Work with Business Development to develop project and program opportunities, leveraging internal and external funding.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams to execute complex projects, ranging from early development to product delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership within funding, schedule, and customer constraints.
  • Reach out and Work within the survivability community and build relationships and partnerships.
  • The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to engage customers, write proposals, lead teams, interact with internal and external customers, and successfully execute delivery with high customer satisfaction.
  • Work with and support programs across Land Systems when needed when advantageous

 

To Land This Job, You Need:

  • Strong business leadership background.  Able to lead multidisciplinary teams, supervise and mentor team members, plan and manage projects including tasks and budgets.
  • The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to manage and report business line performance. 
  • Ability to Lead holistic product development and transition products to manufacturing. 
  • Hands on experience in ballistic testing and troubleshooting survivability systems in laboratory and field environments, strong skills across entire design cycle. 
  • Must understand configuration management in system design, and product realization.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with extensive technical & proposal writing experience.  Strong presentation skills and the ability to lead customer interaction required.
  • BS or MS in engineering/sciences/business with 8 - 10 years industry experience in mechanical products development.
  • PMI PMP desirable  
  • Experience with defense programs and product development is desirable.
