Director, C5iSR Production Operations
This is a Profit and Loss management position that will oversee all contracts associated with manufacturing and production operations for the Lorton and Kilmarnock facilities, as well as procurement that supports those facilities and the C5ISR business Unit.
The individual selected will be directly responsible for leading a team of approximately 40+ people performing the functions described above. The individual selected is expected to manage all assigned programs and achieve a minimum of 10% fee overall while also growing the value and number of projects booked within these manufacturing capabilities, to include growing the commercial PCB business by 50% over the next 12 months.
Your Contribution to the Mission:
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including the production, procurement, logistics shipping and receiving functions.
- Provide consistent leadership to staff to ensure effective and efficient execution of assigned tasks and initiatives.
- Support profitable execution of government projects by driving discipline to proposed labor budgets and prevention of material losses that lead to over- runs.
- Ensure operations comply with AS9100 and ISO-9001 requirements and support internal and external audit activities.
- Work closely with the engineering, and program management team to insure effective transition of products from engineering prototypes to full rate production
- Meet all assigned financial metrics for revenue, fee and orders
- Support growth in commercial PCB business volume while maintaining greater than 10% fee.
- Support profitable execution of government projects by driving discipline to proposed labor budgets and prevention of material losses that lead to over-runs.
- Complete installation and certification of Class III upgrade to the Kilmarnock production line.
- Attract and retain the production staff necessary to achieve strategic business objectives and operating goals. This includes the Manufacturing Functional Management staff, appropriate distribution of skills and capacity across a geographically dispersed Manufacturing organization, and continuously monitoring and reconciling head counts with the operating budget.
- Establish and maintain an environment of execution discipline and continuous learning.
- Continuously evaluate and evolve Manufacturing SOPs to improve performance.
- Provide consistent leadership to staff to ensure effective and efficient execution of assigned tasks and initiatives.
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including the production, shipping, and customer service functions.
- Assures proactive risk mitigation measures are employed.
- Maintains contact with other functional managers and suppliers, concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.
- Delivers status presentations to internal customers and leaders as needed.
- Ensures regular contact with project management, keeping them informed of delivery and/or production schedules.
- Ensure operations comply with AS9100 and ISO-9001 requirements and support internal and external audit activities.
- Responsible for management of Environmental Health and Safety program for the Lorton and Kilmarnock facilities
To Land this Job, You Need:
- BS or MS degree and 10 or more years experience in relevant field
- P&L experience desirable
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operating metrics
- In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles
- Ability to analyze and substantiate risks and opportunities
- Results driven
- Strong written and verbal communication in both in person and virtual environments
- Experience working in ISO and AS9100 environmentsin Aerospace & Defense
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Ability to work in fast paced and often ambiguous settings
- Strategic mindset with proven ability to execute
- Ability to Manage complexity and drive for standardization
- Proven ability to build, develop, and lead teams and rally organization around the vision.
