Business Performance Manager Cyber & StratComm

Role Purpose

The primary role of the Business Performance Manager is the performance of business delivery in support of the Cyber and Strategic Command business. Driving to achieve accurate forecast and delivery performance metrics including orders, revenue, cash and profit targets, customer satisfaction and delivery performance. Focus will also be on delivery and cash milestones, resourcing and people development.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the business and IDT’s Operational Business Planning, Budget and Integrated Strategic Business Planning data inputs, engaging across the IDTs to collate, refine and validate data based on building an understanding of the portfolio.
  • Monitor and report to the MD/IDTL/Programme Managers/Principal BPMs on business performance metrics on a regular basis including:
    • Spend against work at risk limits on a weekly basis;
    • Reviewing progress weekly against key cash metrics – milestones, invoice and payments, supplier invoicing and engaging the Project Controllers and Project Managers to resolve any issues or under-performance;
    • Actual cost in month versus forecast, including % complete on a weekly basis;
    • Business Development code bookings on a monthly basis;
    • Resource demand versus actuals (also attending demand reviews and coordinating IDT response) on a monthly basis;
    • Customer satisfaction responses.
  • Ownership of the data associated with the monthly business reporting cycle within the business/IDTs, highlighting key financial and business performance data to senior management and preparing inputs for IDT reviews as agreed with the IDTL’s/Principal BPMs including latest best estimates of orders, revenue and profit.
  • Support the business to ensure that cost control is delivered in accordance to strategy, budget and business expectations.
  • Support the coordination of P3M deployment and workload coordination for the business, in conjunction with the UKI demand manager.
  • Coordinate, in conjunction with the PMO, the P3M recruitment activities for the business.
  • Coordinate the P3M audit and assurance drumbeat, in conjunction with the PMO and QA team.
  • Support the collation of operating framework and regulatory compliance information from across the business.
  • Manage the accuracy of the C4C data. Help monitor for accuracy and look for guidance from IDTL/Programme Managers/BD/Principal BPMs to update as needed.
  • Identify performance improvements and corrective actions based on the IDT performance metrics.
  • Support ad-hoc data collection and manipulation as required by the PD/IDTL

Experience and Qualifications

  • Able to analyse and diagnose business problems and translate these into effective and workable solutions.
  • Ability to manipulate and distil complex data to identify actions to deliver improvements to business performance.
  • Project management background and skills.
  • Understanding of business and project finance and key performance metrics.
  • Confident and articulate with well-developed communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Core competencies will include:
  • Attention to Detail, Logical, Flexibility, Professional Image, Pro-Active, Enthusiastic, Conscientious, Customer Centric, Results Driven, Innovative, Engaging.
  • APMP or equivalent level competency base is beneficial in this role.
