This is an exciting phase in our history and we are looking for an experienced Electronics Technician, based in Melbourne that will see you working within our Engineering Services division.

As the Electronics Technician, your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to;
- Production assembly of products systems, including wiring harnesses
- Integration of trial assemblies to platforms
- Assembling and installing electrical and electronic systems in a range of equipment using 12v and 230v systems
- Performing electronic diagnostics and fault finding
- Conduct calibration, maintenance, repair and overhaul of QinetiQ products and assemblies
- Support QA of material and sub-assemblies (inwards and outwards)
- Performing function and end of line checks and tests
- Provide input into new product development and installation guides
- Provide input into operating and maintenance documentation
To be successful in the role of Electronics Technician, you will need demonstrated experience, knowledge & skills in the following areas:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar roles
- Automotive and/or Robotic electrical, mechanical experience
- Ability to install and repair electrical systems with experience working on a wide range of systems and products
- Able to apply a wide breadth of experience and multi-trade knowledge to commissioning/trouble shooting of complex systems
- Ability to work in a changing environment both forward on customer test/range environments and within a workshop environment
- Be willing to learn and adapt to new and varying products and equipment
- Computer and IT literate proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Conducts advanced, high quality technical work
- Leads proactive management of safety, quality, security and project performance.
- A strong customer focus and be driven to achieve agreed targets
- Superior attention to detail, with complex problem solving and analytical skills, with a positive can-do attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience interpreting and working with CAD models and design tools (Preferred but not essential)
- Defence experience (Preferred but not essential)
- Can provide technical direction and training to other technical staff in routine work. (Preferred but not essential)
- Is able to check work of others (peer review) including formal certification of quality checks. (Preferred but not essential)
- Can provide advice and guidance to professional engineers and designers, positively influencing designs and projects
Qualifications
- Certificate III Electro Technology Electrician or equivalent
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Preferred but not essential)
