We are currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Services business, based in Melbourne.


The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for systems engineering for large/complex mechanical, electrical, electronics and/or software projects within the program and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to establish and validate requirements.  You will also establish standardised systems engineering practice within and between programs, working closely with internal stakeholders.


As Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing requirements with customers and internal stakeholders for assigned projects
  • Developing solutions that leverage engineering and manufacturing disciplines
  • Mapping requirements to engineering solution work-packages
  • Requirement configuration management
  • Building long-term internal and external customer relationships by delivering on commitments.


To be successful in the role of Systems Engineer you will need to bring with you:



  • Credibility, integrity and high personal ethical standards that align with QinetiQ values
  • Experience with Defence ASDEFCON requirements analysis, mapping and solution compliance
  • Significant applied, systems engineering experience supporting multi-disciplinary, complex technical projects
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering degree
  • Formal systems engineering qualification
  • Experience in a product development, assembly and/or manufacturing environment



  • Have implemented a standardised approach to systems engineering as part of a formal technical framework / quality management environment


Candidates will need to hold an NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance
