Quality Manager

Key Accountabilities
•    Maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation and 9001 approval through the successful management of the Pendine QMS
•    Assuring compliance to regulatory and company standards through the development and implementation of an internal audit programme and evaluation of working practices at Pendine Range
•    Ownership of all Pendine QMS documentation, ensuring documents are reviewed at the required frequency, maintained to the required standard, with any updates or improvements made as necessary
•    Ownership and management of all Quality non-conformances identified during internal and external audits, customer complaints and receipt of non-conforming products.
•    Maintaining an overview of the Pendine Training programme and working with Team Leaders to ensure that all employees are appropriately trained for the activities they are conducting
•    Management of Customer Satisfaction Requests, feedback and any complaints.
•    Prepare information for Management Review and Governance meetings, acting as meeting secretariat
•    Actively seeking out, promote and encourage all opportunities for continuous improvement at Pendine, engaging with the company’s Technical Excellence team to share best practise and support audit where necessary
 

 Key Capabilities/Knowledge

•    A detailed understanding of Quality Assurance, external standards, and internal auditing
•    Significant engineering and technical knowledge with a good understanding of relevant quality standards and processes (e.g. ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO/IEC 1702)
•    Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, both internal and external to QinetiQ, including customers, suppliers and other stakeholders
•    Strong diplomacy and negotiation skills to influence internal and external stakeholders
•    Results-focussed and high levels of responsibility and accountability
•    Methodical and Logical approach
•    Conscientious
•    High level of IT competence
•    Must have driver’s licence and own car
•    Subject to security clearance at SC (Security Check)

  

Experience & Qualifications

•    Experience in a technical or engineering subject; a degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent is desirable
•    Has held a position of technical responsibility with successful Line or Task management accountabilities
•    A tangible track record of achievement with demonstrable Audit and/or Technical Review experience
•    Ability to encourage collaboration between groups and individual team members
