About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Project Controller within one of our main sites based at Portsmouth. The modern site provides high security with a range of skill-sets to various parts of the business such as the provision of continued development and de-risk to the Royal Navy’s mission systems and infrastructure through a newly signed 11 year, £109m contract to supply integration and testing.

You’ll be supporting the principal project controller in the delivery of project controls, providing support to IDTs and other large strategic programmes.

What do I need?

You’ll need experience in some of the following areas would be desirable, but not essential.

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE level (to included English and Mathematics).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at varying levels.
  •  Awareness of the project lifecycle and sales processes.
  • Competence against the agreed Project controls Competency Framework at a level of Foundation
  • APMP Introductory Certificate

What will I be doing?
 

You will deliver a range of tasks and activities using various aspects of project control functions. Using QinetiQ’s operating framework.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting a Principal Project Controller in the provision of support to IDTs and other large strategic programmes.
  • Delivering project support tasks within assigned team; MS Project, lifecycle briefcase, project reporting, invoicing and other project document creation and management.
  • Delivery project finance; debtors and cash collection, calculation of accruals, collation of cost journals and facility costs.
  • Supporting improvement activity, and sharing knowledge skills and best practice
