About the role
As a Senior Systems Engineer you will lead a team of engineers to deliver the synthetic test environment (STE) capabilities in support of the NCSISS (Naval Combat Systems Integration Support Service) contract. It is your job to lead and manage activities working in partnership with the STEATS Technical Lead, Tools Capability lead and Project Manager to ensure a consistent approach to the creation, delivery and support of our products and advice.
What do I need?
- The Senior Systems Engineer should have experience with Computer network architectures, protocols and analysis including client/server, TCP/IP, UDP, NTP and Wireshark.
- You will ideally have knowledge and understanding of a Systems Engineering principles and lifecycles including requirements, design and testing and obsolescence management.

What will I be doing?
Typically you will have responsibility for the technical management of specific, delegated projects relating to STE and as such you are the technical point of contact for our Customers, whether they be DE&S, military or commercial. The Senior Systems Engineer will be expected to engage with our Customers to understand their future aspirations with respect to capability, elicit and understand their requirements, and manage the process of analysis and decomposition of the requirements to ensure the resultant product is suitable for integration into the existing Portsdown Technology Park (PTP) STE. You will also provide technical support in terms of the creation of the Technical Delivery Plans supported by Systems Engineers to develop robust technical solutions.
We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer who is willing to work in a team environment, both civilian and military. The location of the role will be predominantly PTP; the ability and willingness to travel to other locations in the UK and abroad to support external supplier testing and trials will also be necessary.
