The role
As a CNC Machinist, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, working with energetics and explosive materials.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Aid in research and support of these materials for human protection purposes through test and evaluation services
- You'll be carrying out Machining and Sectioning of explosive materials, articles and associated rigs or equipment.
- The CNC Machinist will also support in the proactive maintenance of machining equipment
This is a full-time role, 08:15am to to 4:45pm, Monday to Friday, based onsite at our Fort Halstead site. Travel to Southend will be required on occasion supported by the company.
Essential experience of the CNC Machinist
- You'll need experience of operating machines, programes, saws and lathes
- You'll need the ability to interpret engineering drawings and assist in the development of cutting plans to machine novel shapes
- The ideal CNC Machinist will need a high level of competence in the use of different software for the programming of remote CNC mills, saws and lathes to include the writing of new and complex programs.
- You'll undergo full training to bring you up to speed with a working knowledge of sensitive materials
Qualifications for the CNC Machinist
- HNC, apprenticeship or time served in a relevant role
