We are currently looking for a Electronics Technician to join our Integrated Engineering Services business at Waterhen

As Electronics Technician your role will be to provide technical guidance to ensure Waterhen maintenance services are conducted within QinetiQ policies and procedures. Contribute to a high performing team culture where staff are fully supported within a safe work environment and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.


Key resposibilities include:


  • Deliver maintenance/technical services within QinetiQ policies and procedures as part of a high performing team culture where staff are fully supported within a safe work environment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer outcomes and support all aspects of the maintenance facility and associated infrastructure
  • Support Defence trials and testing activities.
  • Operate safely within the workshop facility in Sydney.
  • Conduct maintenance services in accordance with maintenance plans, level of authority and performance measures.
  • Deliver services to customers that enhance QinetiQ’s reputation as a trusted provider and partner.
  • Demonstration of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Compliance with legislative, regulatory, QinetiQ Quality Management Systems, Employee Safety requirements.
  • Calibration of support and test equipment.
  • Facilities upkeep.
  • Logistics support (including asset procurement).


To be successful in the role of Electronics Technician you will need to bring with you:


  • Certificate III (Preferably Cert IV) in Electronics and Communications
  • Demonstrated experience performing maintenance operations within a complex electronics environment (preferably Defence).
  • Demonstrated high quality of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Experience in fault finding complex electronics using a wide range of test equipment.
  • Experience repairing electronic systems and PCB’s to component level.
  • Experience operating within a quality management system.
  • Experience working with electronics design engineers.
  • High quality work and attention to detail.
  • Strong team working skills.
  • Builds strong relationships with clients.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills
  • Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Integrity and high personal ethical standards that align with QinetiQ standards
