QinetiQ Inc. is seek ign dyamnic Chief of Staff to be  a member of the Corporate Executive Leadership team. The Chief of Staff (CoS) will protect, manage, and optimize the business cadence set by the CEO.  Operational consistency starts here as the entire company is grounded to this cadence.

A thriving Chief of Staff to the CEO requires a few key attributes:

 

  • Super Organizer — Our environment is dynamic, but the business must run at the cadence set by the CEO office.
  • Business Acumen — Understanding how people, process, and tools all comes together to run the company is critical to support the speed and quality of decision making required
  • Reputation for Delivery — The CEO and the leadership team need to know that responsibilities or tasks that fall to the CoS are guaranteed to get done.
  • Trusted Operator — With full access to the CEO, the CoS must innately appreciate how to manage such information in confidence and with discretion.
  • Expert Facilitator — The role requires managing conversations, synthesizing multiple points of view, and aligning on direction…all in an impartial and professional way.

 

Your Contribution to the Mission:

 

  • Build and lead the daily operations and business cadence of the executive office 
  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives, facilitate special projects, and ensure action items are executed on behalf of the CEO
  • Coordinate business reporting in and out of the CEO’s office
  • Assess all inquiries directed to the CEO, determine priority and the proper course of action
  • Proactively follow up with the leadership team if and when goals / actions are not being achieved to determine why objectives are not being met. Provide actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Track high priority initiatives for the CEO and identify any/potential obstacles
  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to CEO, standing in on meetings, challenging ideas and offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly

 

To Land this Job, You’ll Need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of government contracting industry experience, and current or previous experience as a Chief of Staff or in other relatable operational support roles.
  • Working with senior leaders, demonstrating excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of working with ambiguity and having to think ahead and respond accordingly.
  • Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a highly demanding environment.
  • Experience of working at Executive level, with DOD or government departments, with non-executive directors and/or President, CEO, Executive office across wider commerce.
  • Experience of working with high profile customers and key stakeholders, developing open channels of communication and engagement.
  • Experience of collaborative working and delivery through others.
  • Ability to work across business function to ensure all related professions are engaged in the delivery of data and information needed by the President & CEO.
  • Previous experience of working with complex data, interrelated information and summarizing this to a briefing paper is a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills are essential to be effective in this role.
  • Experience of working with highly confidential material, non-disclosure, and national sensitive information
  • A proven ability to manage a challenging workload and deal with ambiguity.
  • Capable of working collaboratively to achieve agreed outcomes and goals.
  • Able to lead projects and activities through others, utilizing excellent interpersonal skills, engagement techniques and continuous drive to achieve.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and high-profile external customers.
  • Collaborative style, utilizing negotiation and coaching skills to resolve issues, influence attitudes and opinions, gaining agreement to plans and ideas.
  • Able to maintain high performance standards and courtesy when under pressure.
  • Takes personal responsibility to deliver on agreed outcomes.
