The Senior Program Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, will support QinetiQ Inc’s Technology Solutions with key responsibilities:

 

  • Manage multiple internal research and development (IR&D) projects spanning the ground robotics, advanced armor (survivability), and maritime business areas serving both commercial and department of defense (DOD) customers.
  • Work closely with business management & finance to ensure that the business case supporting the investment remains valid over the duration of the project.
  • Develop project plans with offramps and advanced risk management/mitigation techniques.
  • Continuously monitor technology innovation to spiral advances into projects that deliver customer advantage.
  • Communicate progress to internal and external stakeholders.

 

To land this job, you need:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 12 years of experience.
  • Proven ability to develop project plans that proactively manage risk and uncertainty.
  • Broad swath of engineering knowledge spanning electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
  • Concurrent engineering mindset using DFx and DTC principles.
  • Self-starter who keeps management well informed and co-workers motivated.
  • Ability to work in Waltham, Franklin, and Devens, MA facilities.
  • Excellent listening skills which enable the ability to take unique perspectives and forge the best outcome within the boundaries of the project (Cost, Schedule, Technical Performance, Resources).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound judgements with limited/partial information; when appropriate leverage advanced statistical analysis techniques to support decisions.
  • Ensure internal and external customer needs are met even if they at times conflict.
