Early Careers - Materials Analyst
How long have you worked in your current role at QinetiQ?
Just over a year, starting in September 2021.
Where do you work?
As I’m on the graduate scheme, I’ve been able to move around the country and see some sites other than my home site of Fort Halstead in Sevenoaks. I’ve been to in Rosyth and Farnborough working in areas of QinetiQ different to that of my home site. This variety of work has allowed me to see how different parts of the company work together on larger projects and programmes, and what possibilities my career can take in the future.
What do you like most about your role?
I like having the ability to see the impact of my work on a wider scale. Business awareness, which builds over time and placements help to see how areas of the business work together. Mechanical testing providing SSS for project planning and T3E. Also that I got the chance to explore other areas of engineering on offer through the placements on the graduate scheme.

The depth and breadth of knowledge that the company holds is something I hope to be learning about for a long time to come. Having experts in the groups that we work in helps QinetiQ to perform on an international stage in our industry.
