THE ROLE
We are seeking a commercially astute Project Manager with a management/ project management qualification and relevant experience to join our Opportunities Gateway (OG) team. This is a new role which will report to the OG Senior Programme Manager and is vital for coordinating cross-company bid activities and contract delivery management.
The selected candidate will be employed as a hybrid worker, our office is in Lincoln, and the successful candidate should expect to work in the office for an average of 2 days per week.
The successful candidate will:
- Assist in developing appropriate solutions and manage bids within key commercial frameworks
- Conduct intelligent triaging and horizon scanning of framework opportunities aligned with business priorities
- Maintain thorough understanding of framework contracting processes
- Manage bid forms and artefacts across various IT systems
- Ensure timely dissemination of materials with proper version control
- Anticipate delivery milestones and customer check-ins
- Coordinate technical assurance activities
- Submit contract deliverables via electronic systems
- Identify and champion continuous improvement initiatives
- Alert management to potential issues affecting contracts or prospects
THE PERSON
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Relevant experience in Project Management with a Project Management qualification essential
- Demonstrated commercial and bid knowledge essential
- An understanding of framework contracting highly desirable
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities
- Proactive and flexible approach to complex challenges
- Defence Industry experience or knowledge is desirable
- An understanding of social values in contracts is desirable
The ideal candidate will contribute positively to the company's reputation while supporting wider divisional activities as required. This role demands strong commercial acumen and the ability to apply management expertise across multiple frameworks and business opportunities.
Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
