Located on the outskirts of Salisbury and Amesbury in Wiltshire, the site spans over one thousand acres and boasts two operational runways - including the longest military runway in the UK. QinetiQ on behalf of the Ministry of Defence has operated the airfield and its infrastructure since 2001. There are extensive facilities to undertake a wide range of test, evaluation, demonstration and consultancy programmes. It is also the home of the world’s first test pilot school (ETPS) that provides world-class training for flight test professionals of both civilian and military customers.

 

The Role
As a Property Services Operative, you will provide support by delivering planned or requested activities which will depend on the requirements of the individual task in order to effectively deliver high quality operations service.

 

Day-to-day, you will also:

  • Provide robust and flexible support and undertake a number of duties such as routine maintenance tasks, grounds maintenance, cleaning, lift and shift, post, escorting and other general duties in support of the Property Operations on a site
  • Ensure robust application of health, safety and environmental procedures and processes
  • Deliver general service tasks as identified such as hanging notice boards, weekly shower flushes and recording for audit purposes as well as conducting the receipting, sorting, recording (as appropriate) & delivery of post & parcels on site
  • Oversee the collection of waste items from across site and disposal in the correct receptacles; including kitchen & dry waste recycling bins as well as assist the Grounds maintenance team to maintain the site grounds to the required standard
  • Assist in resolving customer issues with outstanding tasks or deliveries and ensure the appropriate movement of consumables & materials across site in the ongoing management of services

 

This role is part time, 2 days per week.

 

Essential experience of the Property Services Operative:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive as part of a team and work independently
  • Manual Handling awareness/risk appreciation
  • Previous experience in a similar role

 

Qualifications for the Property Services Operative:
