About the role
This is a superb and exciting opportunity to become an active and influential part of an extensive and experienced team, providing electrical design expertise to various civil and military aircraft modifications. The successful Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of quality, safe, avionic electrical system designs to time and budget as part of the Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC) team at Boscombe Down.
What do I need?
- You should have extensive experience being an Electrical Design Engineer within the Air domain.
- The Senior Electrical Design Engineer should have some experience using Solidworks but this is not essential.
What will I be doing?
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing safe, compliant, fit for purpose, avionic electrical systems for both military and civil platforms, owning designs from concept to completion. You will oversee delivery of electrical designs, ensuring that all applicable customer and regulatory requirements are met. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will generate estimates for new projects, based on aircraft design surveys that you lead, as well as creating system architectures, avionic electrical design data and integration wiring diagrams from a developed understanding of customer requirements. You will also identify testing requirements to support system certification, as well as actively supporting installations / trial teams on aircraft, working through any post design issues and creating any supporting documentation that might be required. Also as a senior member of the team, the Senior Electrical Design Engineer will also act as a role model and mentor to colleagues with less experience.
