The team at QinetiQ have a number of exciting opportunities on the horizon, and as such, we are looking for an Avionics Engineer to join our Advisory team, based in Brisbane.

 

This position provides support to ongoing engineering design activities requiring a Design Engineer, up to and including CVE certification, for the classification of design, certification program plan development, design development, review and compliance assurance for the current and future avionics and software modifications.
 

As an Avionics Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
 

  • Conformance to instructions described in AASB DOE and AASB CAM-SP
  • Technical Information (TI) handling; registration, review of applicability, Safety Alert Information (SAI) and actions
  • DASR Classification of Design
  • Develop and review Certification Program Plan (21.A.17 and local Design Manual procedures) including:
  1. Establish Certification Basis (21.A.101)
  2. Develop Specification (under local Design Manual procedures)
  3. Develop Design Plans
  • Develop Avionics technical content
  • Peer Review Avionics technical content
  • DASR CVE Review
  • DASR Declaration of Compliance /Approval (21.A.263(c) for minor & 21.A.97 for major)
  • Recommendations for Incorporation Approval and Service Release (FG AASB(ENG) 12-0-094)
  • System Safety Analysis
  • Modification development and review
  • Deviation development and review
  • Development of Functional and Physical Configuration Audits
  • Development of Acceptance Test and Evaluation Plans
  • Draft and/or technically approve Publication Changes
  • New Drawing Requests and Drawing Change Notices
  • System tests, investigations and reports
  • Technical support for tests and evaluations
  • Development, review and approval of support Logistics Processes (LPs).
  • Support all aspects of the CH-47F Health and Usage Monitoring System (Cargo Platform Health Environment (CPHE)
  • Support all aspects of the CH-47F Mission Planning software (AMPS), and the Army Aviation Common Mission Management System (CMMS)
  • Lead the establishment of a Data Usage and Analysis capability and assist with the development of business cases as required to support these efforts

 

To be successful in the role of Avionics Engineer, you will require:

  • Appropriate Engineering qualification
  • Experience levels for the discipline/qualification
  • Software and Network integration and troubleshooting
  • Compliance Verification Engineer qualification
  • Aircraft Systems Knowledge
  • DASR Part M,Part 21J and Military Type Certificate Holder Obligations courses

 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with:
  • Aircraft Health and Usage Monitoring Systems
  • Aircraft Mission Planning Software
  • CH-47F Chinook aircraft
  • Software acceptance and certification
  • AASB Engineering Management System (EMS)
  • Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR)
  • Development of procedures documenting Engineering functions
  • Project Task Management
  • Acceptance test planning and conduct
  • Adhoc system diagnostics / investigation
  • Army Aviation System Branch (AASB) Standard Operating Procedures/Functional Guidance
  • Emerald2 exposure and experience

 

Applicants MUST hold a minimum NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance
