The Role:
As a Commercial Manager you will provide essential commercial and contractual support across a diverse portfolio of projects.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be managing the entire contract lifecycle, from opportunity identification to completion, ensuring compliance with risk management and changing processes. By fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and driving innovative solutions you will play a crucial role in supporting business growth, enhancing customer satisfaction and optimising contract performance.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the contract lifecycle from opportunity identification to contract completion, ensuring compliance with risk management and change control processes
  • Managing customer bidding processes and leading negotiations to secure favourable contract terms
  • Reviewing and drafting contracts and relating documents to ensure legal clarity
  • Collaborating with senior management and other teams to align commercial strategies with business objectives
  • Resolving and addressing contractual issues as they arise while maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the contract duration

 

Essential experience of the Commercial Manager: 

  • Practical experience in a commercial management role including management of complex contracts and negotiation
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial principles including risk management, contract lifecycle and the ability to apply critical thinking to make effective customer-focused decisions
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, understanding regulatory frame works and familiarity with various types of agreements (pre and post award)
  • Proven ability to lead negotiations and influence senior stakeholders effectively
  • Experience leading a team, guiding and mentoring junior staff and collaborating within a dynamic team environment

 

Essential qualifications for the Commercial Manager:

  • A university degree or comparable work experience
  • Professional accreditation such as WCC Advanced Practitioner status or MCIPS qualification

This role is 37 hours per week based at Malvern or Bristol. Hybrid working patterns are available.
