The Role
As a Communications Engineer, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will be part of a delivery team responsible for the development, fielding and sustainment of a range of communication and information systems and equipment.
 
Day-to-day, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership and support the business in delivery, programmes and bidding activities.
  • Be responsible for the development of design certifications, technical delivery plans, high level documentation and testing components, system and at user levels.
  • Support a range of activities within system engineering and RF communications.
  • Be performing complex engineering/technical assignments developing creative and practical solutions to customer problems.
  • Engage with stakeholders and customers.

 

Essential Experience of the Communications Engineer:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information.
  • Knowledge of communication systems (e.g. Propagation, Waveforms, deployed networks and software defined radios).
  • A strong system engineering background understanding requirements, capture, integrations, planning and testing.
  • Strong ability to communicate with stakeholders effectively.

 
Qualifications for the Communications Engineer:

  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline or able to provide evidence of equivalent experience.
