The role
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, shaping the future of aerospace technology and making a significant difference in strategic transport and air mobility platform projects.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead and coordinate project and programme engineering activities, ensuring the successful delivery of complex integrated outputs that meet customer requirements. You’ll provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and engineering governance.
 

This is a unique opportunity to deliver technical leadership and develop stakeholder relationships across various counterparts based at Brize Norton. You’ll act as a key leader and principal systems engineer for our community of technical teams, subject matter experts and customers.


Essential experience of the Principal Systems Engineer

  • Recognised aerospace academic qualification to at least HND standard.
  • Further learning and relevant training in air systems and engineering.
  • Professional Registration at Incorporated or Chartered level with an Engineering Institution.
  • Excellent people leadership and communication skills.
  • Significant technical experience of military and/or civil air platforms and the air vehicle life cycle.

 

Qualifications for the Principal Systems Engineer

  • A relevant engineering degree; Chartered Engineer status would be highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the UK MOD customer, MOD Procurement process and knowledge of relevant MAA/CAA regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience of applying EASA Part 21/ MAA DAOS.
  • Experience in developing aerospace technology.
  • Experience of large aircraft platforms would also be highly desirable criteria.
