QinetiQ is seeking highly motivated Capture Managers (two positions) to join our dynamic Advisory Services team in Canberra. As a Capture Manager – Advisory Services, you will play a crucial role in identifying and qualifying potential business opportunities, developing and executing comprehensive capture plans, and leading cross-functional teams to create and deliver compelling proposals.

 

To be successful in this role, you should have proven experience in business development, capture management, and proposal development. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. A deep understanding of the Government / Defence ‘above the line’ market, and knowledge and proficiency in proposal management methodologies (e.g., Shipley).

As Capture Manager – Advisory Services you will be accountable to:

 

  • Foster a positive and influential presence within QinetiQ’s Australian Sector
  • Lead cross-functional geographically-dispersed teams to create compelling proposals
  • Develop and execute comprehensive capture plans in partnership with the Business Winning Excellence function
  • Identify and qualify potential business opportunities in consultation with Advisory Services’ leadership
  • Ensure capture and proposal processes align with the Shipley Method and other QinetiQ methodologies
  • Adhere to and actively promote QinetiQ’s robust governance culture throughout the entire bid cycle.
  • Meet all tender schedules, budgets, and task assignments.

 

To be successful in the role of you will need to bring with you:

 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on soft power expertise, fostering effective collaboration and relationship-building in diverse environments
  • A degree in a Business related field or demonstrated commensurate experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated commercial/business acumen as either the customer or capability deliverer.
  • Experience in Defence, Government, or related industry at management level
  • Experience within the Defence or Government budgeting and capability development lifecycle.
  • Strong client and staff engagement, relationship, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically with a focus on long-term opportunity pipeline development to deliver long-term growth
  • High level knowledge and skills in Shipley capture processes or APMP
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and respond to emerging business needs
  • Knowledge of the ASDEFCON suite of contracting documents

 

Candidates will need to hold a Baseline Australian Government Security Clearance, or be capable of successfully applying for one.
