This is an exciting phase in our history and we are looking for a Radio Frequency Engineer (RF) join our Engineering Services division in Adelaide, as we embark on our next phase of growth.


The Radio Frequency Engineer will support test and evaluation of RF front-end subsystems for wideband and multi-channel RF electronic warfare systems under development. Prototype sub-systems have been developed, and currently require analysis of their effectiveness for the use case and modifications as required. The subsystems include multi-channel, RF-electronics front ends based on state-of-the-art digitiser boards for wideband EW systems, and radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) multichannel phased array prototype systems for mm-wave counter measure applications.


In support of the design, development and testing of wideband RF-electronics systems, the Radio Frequency Engineer will deliver:

  • Configure two multichannel phased array RFIC transceiver prototype systems in transmit and receive mode and evaluate the performance in an electronic warfare application context. This will require liaising with equipment vendors (Australian) and programming of microcontrollers and other instrument control hardware
  • Configure multi-channel mm-wave RFIC up/down converter subs system and integrate with digital backend to evaluate RF performance. Carry out any modifications to the subsystem and write necessary software for control of the RFICs


To be successful in the role of Radio Frequency Engineer you will need to bring with you:

  • An Electronics Engineering degree, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience  
  • Knowledge of RF components up to mm-wave frequencies and using high-speed RF measurement equipment
  • Experience in using digital control systems hardware such as microcontrollers and associated software
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Matlab, Python or similar
  • Experience in design and development of RF-electronics sub systems
  • Working knowledge of RF transmitter and receiver concepts
  • Understanding of Radar, Phased array and EW digital signal processing technique
