We are excited to invite applications from experienced System Administration – Application Support specialists to provide technical administration, level 1-2 Innovator application support and operational assurance for Defence engineering and configuration management systems. This role can be based out of Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane.

 

Reporting to the Program Director GWEO Services, you will deliver level 1-2 technical support to configuration and engineering application, including triage, diagnosis and resolution.

 

The Systems Administrator- Application Support will also be accountable for:

 

  • Administering accounts, permissions, and configuration parameters consistent with PSPF, ISM, and export-control requirements.
  • Conducting system monitoring, patching, and preventative maintenance to sustain reliability and compliance.
  • Maintaining configuration documentation, operational run-books, and audit evidence.
  • Service Request Fulfilment & Incident Management
  • Managing and fulfilling service requests under ITIL Request Fulfilment processes (access provisioning, environment setup, data updates).
  • Perform trend and root-cause analysis, raising problem records or workflow improvements where required.
  • Apply configuration control, baselining, and release processes to maintain traceability and integrity.
  • ITIL Service Management & Governance
  • Develop end-user guides, training modules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for supported applications, workflows, and compliance obligations.

 

 

As a suitably experienced and well- rounded Systems Administration professional, the Systems Administrator – Application Support will have:

 

  • Proven experience providing Level 1–2 support for enterprise or engineering systems in a secure Defence ICT environment.
  • Sound understanding of ITIL principles and ITSM toolsets.
  • Experience with configuration-management or engineering-data systems and workflow design.
  • Working knowledge of ICT Change Management and participation in CAB.
  • Experience with data migration / ETL processes and quality assurance.
  • Awareness of and compliance with ITAR and Export Control Regulations, including handling of controlled technical data and user-access restrictions
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills across Defence and vendor organisations.
  • Experience developing and delivering user training and documentation.

 

 

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold an NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance
