We're looking for a Trade Compliance Manager to bring their expertise and leadership to our Australian operations. In this critical role, you'll provide trusted advice and guidance on trade compliance, helping business units implement effective solutions and maintain the highest standards.

Your focus will be on ensuring best practices across trade compliance processes, export/import management, and strategic decision-making—aligned with Group Trade Compliance requirements. You'll also play a key role in bids, programs, and business development, adding value and assurance at every stage.

To achieve this, the role will:

  • Support the Australian business’ transformation and integration Trade Compliance roadmap to ensure the alignment of the Australian business to QinetiQ Group Trade Compliance Requirements (policy, processes, tools and systems) and other Group requirements around governance, risk management, as well as performance reporting; so as to ensure that the Australian business units are capable of enacting best practice Trade compliance processes, decision-making and export/import management
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Australian business, Group Trade Compliance, other QinetiQ sectors, suppliers and other external stakeholders
  • Monitor Trade Compliance developments applicable to Australia and provide market intelligence to internal key stakeholders to support strategic planning and project delivery
  • Support the evaluation and development of Australian business Trade Compliance competence and professional standards to meet business requirements and growth aspiration; team and individual.

 

You will bring with you:

  • Proven experience and knowledge of International Trade Compliance (ITC) practices and theory, whether in legal and/or compliance role with a primary focus on Trade Compliance
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and experience in implementing Australian and US export controls (Military and Dual Use)
    Experience operating within Defence and technology markets
  • Degree in a Business or Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in integration and transformation programs
  • Demonstrated successful progression of leadership roles and responsibilities
  • Willingness to travel, both domestic and international
  • Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain:  minimum Australian NV1 security clearance


In terms of location, we will consider candidates from Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane.
