The Role
We have an exciting entry-level opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant, offering excellent career prospects and support for your professional qualifications. 

 

As part of the UK Shared Services Team, you will assist in delivering high-quality financial services to our customers. We seek candidates with a desire to start a career in finance, strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit. You will have full training, professional support, and opportunities for growth.

 

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting at all times, taking ownership, responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the Business
  • Finance month end close and reporting under the supervision of a Management Accountant.
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions and any others that help to provide timely and accurate month end accounts
  • Attend Project/Cost Centre reviews, providing relevant feedback and challenging the numbers (assistance and development in this area)
  • Prepare Balance Sheet Packs, AP06 & AP12 Statutory audit packs and monthly QinetiQ Management Packs
  • Support Cost Centre Managers, project and program managers alongside Management accountants
  • Assist Management Accountants with forecasting and budget rounds, gaining experience and taking a lead when ready

 

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week where you will be on site at Farnborough 2 days per week.
 
Experience of the Assistant Management Accountant:

  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office, in particular Excel is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills associated with working at a cross-functional level
  • Self-motivated, thorough, disciplined and detail focused
  • Excellent analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to adapt pace of delivery to meet business requirements with continuous improvement approach
  • Highly customer focused in meeting and exceeding customer expectations

 
Qualifications of the Assistant Management Accountant:

  • To have attained or working towards an accountancy level Qualification i.e. CIMA, ACA, ACCA or AAT (or equivalent) OR to provide evidence of recent relevant experience in a similar role
