The Role
As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in our organisation’s deployment of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. The role combines technical delivery, data modelling, and reporting expertise with leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

Day-to-day, you’ll help shape our modern analytics platform, deliver high-quality insights, and support the development of other analysts within the team and across the business. You will be working across the full data lifecycle-from ingestion and modelling in Fabric to building impactful dashboards in Power BI.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports aligned with business requirements
• Building and optimising semantic models using best practices including star schema and DAX optimisation
• Developing and managing data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric using Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse and Warehouse
• Translating stakeholder requirements into scalable data solutions while communicating insights to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ensuring data accuracy, integrity and performance while contributing to Fabric platform architecture, governance and reusable standards
• Providing expert advice, coaching and mentoring while identifying opportunities to improve performance, usability, scalability and adoption of best practices

Essential experience of the Data Analyst: 

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights
• Extensive recent experience with Power BI including report design, DAX and data modelling
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or related Azure data services including Synapse and Data Factory
• Proficiency in SQL, data transformation techniques and designing dimensional data models
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, lakehouse concepts, version control and deployment practices
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to balance hands-on delivery, guidance and leadership responsibilities

Essential qualifications for the Data Analyst:

• A university degree (or equivalent) or evidence of recent highly relevant experience in a similar role

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
