Role Purpose:
The Global Mobility Adviser operates as a trusted expert within the UK Advisory Team, will deliver expert operational and advisory support across the full lifecycle of international assignments, transfers, and cross-border working arrangements.
The role ensures compliance with global policies, governance frameworks, and legislative requirements while enabling business growth and talent development across multiple geographies.
The role will actively contribute to the development and establishment of company operations in new countries by providing expert mobility guidance, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and enabling seamless workforce deployment to support strategic geographic expansion.
The role acts as a key point of contact for HR and business stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and excellence in employee experience.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide end-to-end case management for international assignments, permanent transfers, commuters, and short-term business arrangements.
- Deliver high-quality advisory support to People Partners and business leaders on mobility policy, cost considerations, and compliance implications.
- Oversee the preparation and interpretation of cost estimates, balance sheets, and assignment letters.
- Manage vendor coordination (tax, immigration, employer of record and relocation) ensuring service quality and adherence to SLAs.
- Support governance and operational risk management, ensuring compliance with tax, immigration, social security, and employment laws.
- Lead on records management and data accuracy for mobility population metrics, payroll instructions, and audit outcomes.
- Maintain and continuously improve mobility processes, standard operating procedures, and technology to enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Support delivery of the broader Global Mobility strategy to enable business growth, including new mobility solutions, policy design and education of People Partners and business leaders.
- Provide expert global mobility support for the establishment of operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with local employment, tax, and immigration regulations, coordinating vendor services, and enabling seamless workforce deployment to meet strategic business expansion objectives.
- Support and implement People projects or change initiatives that impact multiple business areas or the wider UK market as required.
Key Capabilities/Knowledge:
- Excellent understanding of tax, immigration, and social security requirements with the ability to interpret and apply to complex business proposals or assignments.
- Strong influencing and relationship-building skills; able to challenge and gain buy-in at senior management level.
- Highly organised with excellent case management discipline and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and manage competing priorities.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret data and develop cost models to support decision-making.
- Continuous improvement focus: identifying opportunities to simplify, digitise, and enhance process efficiency and compliance.
- Resilient and solutions-focused, demonstrating sound judgement and commercial awareness.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience delivering international mobility operational support in a complex, multinational environment.
- Strong understanding of tax, immigration, payroll, and social security fundamentals.
- Proven experience coordinating external providers and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Degree or equivalent professional experience. (preferred)
- Tax/accounting or global mobility certification (e.g., CIOT, CIPP, BTR, ERC). (desirable)
