IDT Lead Weapons Investments

The scope of the Weapons Investments IDT (Integrated Delivery Team) includes delivery of LTPA Land and Weapons Investments. This role will deliver through the M&L business with strong interface into the LTPA Portfolio Office & the DE&S customer.

 

The role is to lead the IDT to deliver the LTPA and Net Zero investments to TCQ and set the vision for growth, ensuring delivery of the 5 year plan in line with the ISBP. This IDT delivers through the Maritime and Land Business Unit. 

 

 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Leadership and management of a business-wide team
    Responsibility for the Land Investments P&L delivering consistent in year delivery of operational performance against budget and stretch targets including orders, revenue, resource demand, profit and cash
  • Maintenance of up-to-date forecasts (both financial and resource demand) for all sales, contracted customer work and approved investment funding which reflects the up-to-date expectations for the work; plus a rolling 24 month forecast (both financial and resource demand) for the IDT.
  • Report progress on all accountabilities
  • Delivery of investments in line with the LTPA Capex and Depreciation schedules aligned to the CRP Register.
  • Develop and grow deep relationships with customers and partners to enable delivery of the 5 year plan
  • Annual production of a 5-year Order Intake Scenario (OIS) aligned to the ISBP, and a detailed plan to deliver the 1st year of the OIS.
  • Resolving conflicts (including prioritisation calls) within the IDT and collaborating across QinetiQ.
  • Senior stakeholder management, within QinetiQ and externally
  • Leading the embedding of improvement in the QinetiQ project and programme
  • management function, as agreed with Programme Directors and the PM Functional  team.
  • Operating in a Safe & Secure manner.
  • Embedding culture in line with the QinetiQ values.
  • Ensuring IDT members operate in line with the Operating Framework & functional competency management requirements; and have appropriate personal objectives recorded in the QinetiQ performance management system.
  • Application of governance requirements (including lifecycle, project & independent reviews as appropriate) for sales and delivery work.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience gained, typically rather than necessarily, between 5-8 years of leading a business, projects, programmes, portfolios or IDT function; successful delivery of complex programmes to multiple customers to time cost and quality
  • Experience of negotiating complex deals
  • Significant P&L responsibility, with the ability to grow a business of similar scale and with similar growth aspirations
  • Familiarity with/empathy for agile, dynamic and fast-paced technology environments, with the leadership dexterity and emotional intelligence to nurture and develop unique offerings, whilst forging collaborative relationships across QinetiQ.
  • Demonstrable ability to navigate complex internal corporate relationships to deliver business outcome
  • Experience of leading teams developing product and services 
  • Significant experience of leading complex multi-disciplined teams
  • MSP Practitioner qualification or Chartered Project Manager are desirable
  • Experience of CSR – developing links with academia, D&I, supporting creation of equal opportunities.
  • Preparedness and ability to gain DV-level security clearance.
