The Role:
As an IT Solution Architect you’ll hold an important role acting as a member of the UK Shared Services team providing support and subject matter expertise to the IT Services function in the delivery of IT services to QinetiQ across physical, virtual and cloud-based technologies.
Day-to-day, you’ll deliver planned or requested activities and act as a source of technical knowledge and expertise for other areas of IT.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership and supporting the successful transition of new technologies/solutions into service
- Identifying and developing methods and procedures to make improvements within the remit of our portfolio of solutions
- Providing trusted consultations to QinetiQ and its subsidiaries for defining or shaping business processes and functions whilst articulating clearly between the business and technical views
- Providing technical leadership within your specialism and collaborating to develop solutions/services aligned to QinetiQ’s strategies and requirements
- Ensuring IT documentation is maintained and configured for all Infrastructure services always maintaining system security
- Being a team player in a multi-disciplinary team of application, data and infrastructure professionals to implement Solutions and Implement Solutions across geographical boundaries
Essential experience of the IT Solution Architect:
- Experience of working as an IT Solution Architect in an enterprise level environment building secure solutions
- Proven experience building IT Solutions with a good understanding of the foundational concepts of AWS or Azure Cloud architecture
- Relevant domain level certification such as TOGAF, DODAF, Zachman or equivalent evidence of knowledge and capabilities
- Being IT literate with an in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure systems or applications
- Previous experience supporting business change programmes and cooperating to ensure end-2-end delivery of projects
- Having a strong knowledge of various technologies and the ability to provide expert advice

This role is 37 hours per week based at any of our main UK sites. Hybrid working patterns available.
