The Role
As the Marketing & Communications Executive for UK Defence (UKD), you will play a key role in showcasing the work of the sector, which represents 60% of the QinetiQ Group.
Working as part of a team of four people, you’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across QinetiQ’s wider Group Marketing and Communications team, helping to tell the Group’s story and enhancing its reputation among key stakeholders.
This role will play a key part in delivering impactful marketing campaigns and communications that engage stakeholders and promote our innovative solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of marketing and communications activity that highlights the work and people of UKD
- Creating high-quality content that informs, educates and inspires across a variety of channels (blogs, social media, website, intranet)
- Ensuring all activity is aligned to business priorities, QinetiQ’s communications strategy and brand guidelines and is tailored to our audiences (customers/investors/employees/media)
- Analysing the impact and effectiveness of UKD’s marketing and communications campaigns and activities, using data to help inform future plans and engagement
- Keeping up to date with the latest trends and best practice in marketing and communications, sharing with the wider team to continuously improve engagement.
Essential skills and experience of the Marketing & Communications Executive:
- A passion for marketing and communications with a keen interest in seeking and sharing best practice and identifying new trends and a willingness to learn and develop
- Excellent communicator with high quality written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Creative thinker with an ability to use both data and experience to make evidence-based decisions
- Able to build relationships, collaborate with and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise when managing multiple activities and projects; comfortable delivering at pace and under pressure
- Experience working in a complex stakeholder environment
- A background in technology or defence would be advantageous

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
