The Role

As a Production Engineer, you'll have the exciting opportunity to join a brand-new team at the forefront of developing advanced manufacturing capabilities. This is a role where you can make a real impact, helping to shape production processes, influence ways of working and support the delivery of innovative technologies from the ground up.

 

Day-to-day, you'll work closely with production, engineering and quality teams to introduce new technologies into manufacture, optimise processes and solve complex production challenges. You'll play a key role in establishing production best practice, implementing improvements and driving efficiency, quality and performance as the team continues to grow and evolve.



Your responsibilities will include:

  • Optimising value streams and developing efficient manufacturing workflows to improve production performance
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing control plans, production systems and work instructions
  • Supporting New Product Introduction activities, ensuring a smooth transition from design into production
  • Specifying, implementing and maintaining production tooling, equipment and manufacturing infrastructure
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, cost reduction and waste elimination
  • Conducting root cause analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges and improve operational efficiency

 

Essential experience of the Production Engineer: 

  • Proven experience in a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar role within a complex manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing and optimising manufacturing processes, production workflows and value streams
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software solutions to support production operations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience working within ISO9001-controlled environments and monitoring production performance through KPIs and quality metrics

 

Essential qualifications for the Production Engineer:

  • Demonstrable professional experience in a Production Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering environment as an alternative to formal qualifications
  • Relevant professional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement methodologies would be advantageous

This role is 37 hours per week based onsite at our Farnborough site.
