The Role
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering critical digital and IT infrastructure transformation projects that support maritime defence capabilities, helping to modernise and maintain essential services for the Ministry of Defence while ensuring operational capability, availability, and safety.

Day-to-day, you'll lead the delivery of hardware and software changes across the Raasay Shared Computing Environment (RSCE), managing multiple concurrent projects within the Maritime Digital Solutions and Services (MDSS) portfolio. Working closely with the RSCE Programme Manager, you'll coordinate cross-functional teams, oversee planning, governance, reporting, risks, issues, and priorities, and ensure delivery meets stakeholder expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver software and IT infrastructure projects, ensuring commitments to stakeholders are achieved
• Build strong stakeholder relationships while promoting a safe, secure, and values-driven working environment
• Manage project delivery against agreed targets for customer satisfaction, quality, time, cost, revenue, and cash performance
• Ensure team compliance with operating frameworks, competency standards, and performance management requirements
• Resolve programme conflicts and prioritisation challenges through effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders
• Support governance, reviews, and reporting by providing accurate delivery, financial, and resource performance updates

Essential experience of the Project Manager: 

• Proven experience delivering and managing IT projects, with strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and governance
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams, align stakeholders, and drive successful project outcomes
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging technical teams, customers, and senior leadership
• Experience managing project risks, issues, conflicts, and dependencies, using effective negotiation and problem-solving techniques
• Ability to build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Experience within Defence, Aerospace, or similar regulated environments, including delivery planning, risk management, business development, and customer-focused solution delivery

Essential qualifications for the Project Manager:

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough or Bristol site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

These facilities enable QinetiQ to conduct a wide range of research, testing and development activities that support both military and civilian applications helping to advance technology and support national security.
