The Role
As a highly skilled and motivated Senior Unity / Unreal Software Engineer, you will join a team involved in the development of new immersive training & education tools, conducting testing, and ensuring that the content / activity within those tools meets customer requirements.
Day-to-day, you’ll design, build, integrate and test immersive environments which utilize extended reality (XR) techniques.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Rapid agile-based production of Unity / Unreal software applications
- Translation of requirements into agile backlogs and co-ordination / prioritization of agile backlogs through engagement with project team members and working closely with software developers, system engineers, training delivery providers, project teams and other stakeholders
- Configuration and documentation of wider XR system solution components including enterprise management platform software
- Development of appropriate security practices for software solutions in a defence domain
- Development and execution of system-level test plans and procedures and performing regression, functional, and performance testing
- Feeding back issues and advising on priorities to stakeholders, with the skills to adapt to rapid changes of priority
Essential experience of the Senior Software Engineer:
- Experience in developing XR software using Unity or Unreal
- Proven experience as a Software Developer with a focus on software development, integration and test, including Unity / Unreal software applications
- Strong skills in immersive user interfaces and the production of engaging mixed reality software
- Skilled in the use of Visual Studio and Azure DevOps as your core development environment
- Excellent problem-solving and engineering ability with experience of proactively anticipating, identifying and solving problems and a sound understanding of systems engineering principles
- Experience with technical leadership
Essential qualifications for the Senior Software Engineer:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related subject or equivalent industry experience

This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough. Hybrid working patterns are available.
