The Role
As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and innovation of advanced engineering projects through detailed structural analysis.
Day-to-day, you’ll use advanced computational tools and analytical techniques to evaluate and validate complex structures, collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams, and helping to bring innovative aerospace and defence concepts to life.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform advanced structural analysis using finite element methods and classical techniques to ensure safe and high-performing designs
- Validate and optimise structural designs to support high-energy, high-precision systems and research projects
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and scientists to integrate analysis results into practical engineering solutions
- Provide technical guidance to teams, supporting critical design decisions and risk mitigation
- Contribute to conceptual design and feasibility studies, ensuring structural integrity from initial concept through to final validation
- Support innovation by researching and applying new analysis methods and tools
Essential experience of the Structural Analysis Engineer:
- Extensive experience in structural analysis and computational modelling
- Strong experience with ABAQUS; familiarity with other high-end simulation tools is desirable
- Strong understanding of materials and structural mechanics
- Experience with aerospace or defence-related projects
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Essential qualifications for the Structural Analysis Engineer:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or related field
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)

This role is 37.5 hours per week based at Farnborough. Hybrid working patterns are available.
