The Role
As an Associate Electromagnetic Signature Analyst, you will undertake and support activities associated with electromagnetic measurements, both on shore and on-board ships and submarines. You will also be involved in conducting research and development into the application of novel modelling techniques to electromagnetic signatures.
Day-to-day, you’ll be accountable to the relevant Electromagnetics Team participating in various electromagnetic projects for both ships and submarines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with other analysts and team leads to ensure delivery of associated customer deliverables/reports
- Providing Data analysis and report writing
- Ranging involvement in a variety of capacities, both on board and shore side
- Assisting the EM ranging team with the development of innovative electromagnetic models
- Assisting in meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers and increasing the value of the EM ranging team to QinetiQ
- Providing detailed scientific customer reports to include ranging delivery and outputs to customers
Essential experience of the Associate Electromagnetic Signature Analyst:
- IT Literate to a good degree of competency across multiple software packages and networks
- The ability to provide analytical work with the ability to focus for extended periods
- Previous experience of producing high quality reports
- The ability to be self-motivated, diligent, and enthusiastic to tackle new and difficult tasks
- A background in a Scientific or Engineering discipline with an aptitude for a methodical approach to analysis
- Previous experience in analysis, interpretation and reporting of analytical data types
Essential qualifications for the Associate Electromagnetic Signature Analyst:
- A degree in physics, engineering, or computer science or alternatively a HNC level in engineering
