The Role
As a Laboratory Manager, You will work part-time and will provide support in delivering planned or requested activities at the Haslar Power Sources facility in Gosport.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll run the facility to ensure safety and availability for the Power Sources delivery team.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with H&S, Security, Accreditation, and Audit requirements
  • Maintaining access control lists, updating Facility Induction Packs, ensuring timely maintenance, calibration, and PAT testing of equipment
  • Maintaining Security Accreditation Documentation, managing asset control, and overseeing hardware such as tools and test equipment
  • Working with engineering staff to manage research, test and evaluation equipment across laboratories
  • Ensuring facilities are equipped with specialist protective equipment

 

Essential Experience for the Laboratory Manager:

  • You must have Facility/Laboratory Management experience (not property management) 
  • You must have good knowledge of Health & Safety, Governance and Security

 

Essential qualifications for the Laboratory Manager:

  • You must have attained College level qualification within an engineering/technical/business/vocational field (or equivalent)

This role is 18.5 hours per week based at Gosport. Set working times are flexible based on your requirements. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract

 

Our facilities at the Haslar Marine Technology Park are state-of-the-art, including our ocean basin rotating arm, and marine towing tank, offering an unparalleled environment for testing and refining designs. Our marine technology offers our global customers a service to deliver constrained hydrodynamic model tests of surface ships, submarines, offshore structures, and renewable energy devices.
