We are currently seeking an Technical Spares Assessor  to join our  (Major Service Provider) MSP division in Melbourne.

 

Our MSP Division, is part of a consortium of independent, technical partners, which include Nova Systems and PwC; supported by a range of specialist SMEs.  We share and support Defence’s commitment to growing and improving Australia’s military capability.  We do this by delivering large, long term, integrated work packages across the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).  In doing so we work closely with both uniformed and public service staff to help plan the acquisition and support of advanced military systems and equipment through the provision of rigorous analysis, advice and assurance; we relish solving the unique and challenging problems this work entails.  

 

About the Role

 

Working under limited direction, the Technical Advisor (TA) is required to support the achievement of Technical Integrity of Armoured Vehicles by providing technical support to the Program System Engineering Manager (SEM). The TA is required to apply maintenance engineering knowledge and skills to a range of investigation, development, integration and evaluation projects to support the Sustainment lifecycle. The TA will be responsible for technical and engineering activities in fleet sustainment support of the Capability. As part of an Armoured Vehicle sustainment Team member the TA will be responsible for completing assigned tasks and providing specialist technical advice.

 

The TA is required to apply a working understanding of Logistic Support to ensure a systems approach in problem solving and to provide support to the wider capability of AVD

 

Deliverables:

  • Performing tasks in accordance with appropriate quality, professional and safety standards.
  • Undertake Report on Defective or Unsatisfactory Materiel (RODUM) investigations and monitor the status of RODUM investigations by engineering team members.
  • Provide technical advice to users, stakeholders, and pears.
  • Exercise individual knowledge, skills, initiative and technical judgement in order to resolve maintenance engineering issues and problems associated with achieving Armoured Vehicle Sustainment objectives.
  • Prepare and participate in System Safety Working Groups, and other meetings.
  • Working with Contractors and Project Team, support the review of documentation deliverables, and other relevant areas as required by the EM.
  • Liaise with SMEs for any necessary specialist advice where required when participating in systems engineering activities
  • Prepare technical reports, briefs and if required project correspondence relevant to areas of responsibility
  • Evaluate and ensure that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks (technical compliance)  and implement rectification actions if required
  • Progression of Engineering Changes relevant to areas of responsibility within the configuration management tool
  • Draft modifications and modification proposals where appropriate and raise or review Technical Publications.
  • Plan and complete Maintenance Evaluations.

 

Our ideal candidate will present with:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of defence supply system.
  • Technical authoring experience to Defence standards.
  • Experience working with configuration management tools.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, multi task and work under pressure.
  • MILIS profiles will be highly advantageous.
